Merrickan (Jesse Wildman)

"To the KING eternal, immortal, invisible, the only GOD, be glory and honor forever and ever. Amen." — 1 Timothy 1:17

Hey there! I'm Jesse Wildman (aka Merrickan) and I love producing electronic music with the talents God has blessed me with! I generally make chill, relaxing, techno/electronica. My inspiration mostly comes from jazz and 80s music, although I am also greatly influenced by EDM and House. The driving force behind my work is ultimately my loving Lord, Savior, and friend, Jesus Christ.

I was homeschooled all the way up until my highschool graduation, I attended junior college briefly to study graphic design and music, but then realized I would not enjoy graphic design as a job since I love working with my hands and tinkering on things, so I became a Volvo mechanic.

I've been making music since I was 13. I first got into music because my younger sister started taking piano lessons and I was like, "Hey, can I do that too?" She ended up quitting not long after, but I loved it. I first started making my own music by making up stuff on the piano and writing it out as sheet music. Boy was that hard... A couple years later I started messing around with GarageBand on my iPad. I made a few songs with it, but I was very limited. I then moved to GarageBand on my computer and eventually grew out of it and moved on to Logic Pro X. My producer name, Merrickan, is derived from my middle name, Merrick. I actually went by Jesse Wildman Music for quite some time, but I remixed a song twice cause I wanted to see if I could do better a second time, and I didn't want to say "Jesse Wildman Remix" again, so I coined the name Merrickan and my producer buddy, JELi, thought I should go by that name, so I did.

I used to live in a tree house 36 feet high at my parent's house and now I live on my own in Oregon. I use an M-Audio Code 49 midi controller, a MacBook Pro, and a Harman Kardon sound system. Pretty simple setup, but it does the job.
